Meredith’s Drunk Book Club: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

by Meredith on June 13, 2012

We must read ALL books before they become movies so we can say the book was better than the movie.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter comes to the big screen  June 22. We have until then to get this book read.

According to Brittany (on the last Brittany & Meredith LIVE show), it’s excellent. You really believe this could have happened in history.

I like a good vampire hunter. I’d like to picture honest Abe as one. And I sort of like history stuff, although not in a real nerdy-buff kind of way.

Let’s get history smart and read about vampires all at once.

I’ll meet you back here on the 22nd, and then and we can discuss it.

Buy the book on Amazon.

Download it from iTunes.

Have you read it already? What did you think?

Your first sentence is my strict rule. The book MUST be read before you can see the movie. Adding this to my book list, hope to have it read.in time for.drunk bookclub discussion!!

OH! I read this about a month ago, after it was recommended to me by my students. Seriously excellent book. Very quick read. Lots of historical facts mixed in with fiction. It was fun!

If you finish this quickly, read “Unholy Night” (another book by this author). Gives you an entirely new perspective on the story of the three wise men, baby Jesus, Joseph, and Mary…

YAY SUMMER READING!!

I read this book awhile ago, before the movie was made. I enjoyed it so much that I talked about it endlessly to my husband who patiently listened to a point because he has no interest in vampire anything – not even Abe Lincoln the hunter. I think y’all are really going to enjoy this book.

my first contact with the author was when I read the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and was not much of a fan of it. I was unsure when I picked up vampire hunter but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a quick and fun read. I loved the use of E.A. Poe in it. I’ve been recommending it as a perfect summer read when asked.

Really stoked about the movie.
